Cumulative from January 01, 2023, to November 30, 2023, Vietnam has exported a total of 243,851 tons of various types of black pepper. Among them, black pepper reached 218,299 tons, and white pepper reached 25,552 tons. The total export turnover amounted to 828.9 million USD, with black pepper contributing 705.4 million USD and white pepper 123.5 million USD. Compared to the same period last year, the export volume increased by 14.6%, but the export turnover decreased by 11.7%. The average export price for black pepper over the 11 months was 3,571 USD per ton, while white pepper was 5,081 USD per ton.
The main export markets for black pepper include:
- China: 59,073 tons, accounting for 24.2%.
- United States: 48,059 tons, accounting for 19.7%.
- India: 11,801 tons, accounting for 4.8%.
- UAE: 10,861 tons, accounting for 4.5%.
- Germany: 8,448 tons, accounting for 3.5%.
The major markets for white pepper exports are:
- United States: 3,433 tons.
- Germany: 3,117 tons.
- China: 2,796 tons.
- Netherlands: 2,379 tons.
- Thailand: 2,153 tons.
As of the end of November 2023, Vietnam has imported a total of 24,490 tons of various types of black pepper. Among these, black pepper amounted to 22,954 tons, and white pepper amounted to 1,536 tons. Compared to the same period last year, the import volume has decreased by 28.5%. Brazil, Cambodia, and Indonesia are the three primary countries supplying black pepper to Vietnam, accounting for 62.6%, 14.3%, and 12.6%, respectively. Specifically, imports from Brazil have increased by 38.9%, reaching 15,325 tons, while imports from Cambodia have decreased by 73.0%, reaching 3,505 tons, and imports from Indonesia have decreased by 44.8%, reaching 3,080 tons.
